Normal files should not be a problem. Use the file comander (Your Box need to be mounted in the network in the box itself) to transfer the files in your SSD.
What kind of programs to you mean? Normally are executable files stored in the flash of the Box and not on the HDD.
The HD contains only films and documenteries, no flash of backup files. Wer do I find the file commander??
You will find it in "Menue" then "Extensions". If you do not find it in the overview press green, load and install it from the extensions list.
I hope you have already already changed the starter image to a GIGAblue or OTAV Image. If not select an image from above " Images" designed for your Box.
I recomment Gigablue or OATV 73.
Check if your SSD is correct mounted and formated to Linux ext4
What firmware is installed?
