I don't speak german, but I was thinking about buying this box.
I see it shares the same HW specs as Octagon sf8008 and they make public on their page all the fixes and driver updates.
Is there such a thing for Gigablue?
I'm asking because I have been burnt before when I bought GB800se...only few driver updates and after they released new /improved boxes and abandoned support of GB800se completely
So far I haven't seen any problems.
The trio always had updates at the beginning.
But users no longer report errors.
It's not about having errors...
it's something to know the Manufacturer still cares about that device.
ex: Octagon SF8008 recieved drivers and fixes last time on 19 December 2020.
I don't understand that, if there are no errors, you don't have to correct anything.
so we cannot give any information about whether there will be updates.
since the box is sold very well, I assume that if there is an error this will also be fixed.
Thats why all these Sat Receiver Boxes etc. are based on linux systems ! The Enigma (E2) machines do so as well and i believe, that driver updates (= correction of previous errors) is as common problem of an OS what's called MS Windows. Sorry, but they shouldn't call it OS. The german abbreviation for OS (operating system) is "Betriebssystem" or "BS". The englishmen use this for "Bullshit" an that's what it really is ! So, if you expect, that better customer support depends on the great number of driver development/updates .. nobody can stop You ! Or easy words "Never change a running system !"
Fritz Wenke I also prefer GNU/Linux, but most of the Users do not so. But this is not, why they are stupid but why they used to do so for years, and they don't want to learn something new, even if it is better. But I don't make "Windows Bashing"! Everyone is free to use the OS or BS what he wants or is used to take. And have in Mind, the world has changed. Microsoft is one of the Contributors who provide many Patches for GNU/Linux. The Time when OpenSource in the opinion of MS was the Evil, are long ago.

Hi, msrx111 ! Das hättest Du mir jetz auch in D schreiben können, aber ich wollte auf keinen Fall die MS Anwender als "stupid" o. Ä. bezeichnen. Ich habe selbst viel zu viele Systeme von MS am Start. Nur wehre ich mich gegen die monopolistische Vorgehensweise der MS Corporation, vor allem bei Win10, aber das soll jetzt hier auch nicht Diskussionsthema sein. Vielmehr wollte ich das Konzept von BS'en auf Linux/GNU Basis eher lobend hervorheben - das dann das Pondon auf der anderen Seite schlechter abschneidet, war ja damit mehr zwangsläufig.
Sorry, wenn ich das misverständlich zum Ausdruck gebracht habe!
